I enjoy drinking a glass of wine alongside a home cooked meal. Sit down, talk with my fiancé about whatever tv show is currently on and our problems just drift away. While I am no wine expert, I do have a particular taste for red wine paired with the most delicious of delicious cheese.
Maybe you can tell me more about wine, how to drink it and eat it with various foods. It’s just one of those mysteries to me. When eating out at a restaurant, it’s no different. I simply pick what I’ve stuck to which are wines on the inexpensive end of the menu. I still do not know the taste difference between a $50 wine and a Two Buck Chuck. Enlighten me!
One thing that confuses me is how a set of wine glasses can be purchased for $60 and some for $15. What exactly would the difference be except how the glass is made and the type of glass is used? Would wine taste better in Schott Zwiesel Stemware glass compared to a $2 no-name glass?
Well, the other night I noticed we were running out of our current bottle, Rosemount, so I decided to play a little with some studio lights.
I poured what was left of it into our wine glass and set it up on our dining table/Mac station. We don’t eat much on the dining table because we love to eat in front of the television and enjoy episodes of 30 Rock.
There is a lot of preparation and setup to photographing glass and wine. I never knew that until now. We’re dealing with reflections, shadows, lighting, etc. The one thing I really noticed was that the glass has to be spotless! Clean of any dust, water spots and fingerprints because that will stick out in your pictures like Batman walking downtown on a Sunday afternoon.
