Happy Mother’s day to my mom and to all the mommies out there!

We began the day with morning mass at Mater Dei in Otay Ranch. Afterwards, we actually had breakfast at the bowling alley at the Navy Base. We used to eat there every sunday and their breakfast is really good.

Barbs and I took our whole family with us to get my mom some flowers. I wanted to get the flowers that same day to keep the freshness. I already had the flowers picked out in my head and good thing they were still there. We bought about a dozen tulips. Mix of red and yellow. Picked out a simple vase and we were off to prepare our Mother’s Day dinner ;)

Barbs and I grilled New York steak and lobster tail with corn and mashed potatoes. It was a delicious dinner for the whole family :)

I hope everyone had a fun and fabulous day with their mothers and the whole family, as everyone should. Just remember that mother’s day is every day. I’m thankful for everything my mom has done for me throughout the years and for what she does for me now. My whole family loves her very much!

Weekend Sunshine

March 22, 2010 · 0 comments

This weekend turned out to be perfect for BBQ. Pulled out the charcoal grill and slapped some baby back ribs on cast iron grates.

I soaked some hickory wood chips an hour before grilling. Created a basic rub and allowed the ribs to just sit in the fridge for about 3 hours.

“All the world is birthday cake, so take a piece, but not too much.”

Last Sunday, we celebrated the birthday of our good friend Aliyah. I love celebrating birthdays! It’s just such a joyous occasion filled with fun conversations and laughter. We dined at a restaurant that was new to me, Kous Kous.

I’m preparing a sneak peak into the latest engagement session at Balboa Park and in Coronado. So stayed tuned for that!
This year I’m approaching photography at a different angle. I’m working on improving the backend of things to create an efficient system and process. This includes photography workflow, business process and of course the way [...]

If Only Wine Cured Life’s Problems.. Or does it?

April 27, 2009

I enjoy drinking a glass of wine alongside a home cooked meal. Sit down, talk with my fiancé about whatever tv show is currently on and our problems just drift away. While I am no wine expert, I do have a particular taste for red wine paired with the most delicious of delicious cheese.
Maybe [...]

Shooting Against The Sun

September 25, 2008

One of the toughest challenges I face is shooting a subject against the sun. When I do have to shoot against the sun I’ll often opt for the silhouette. It’s very simple to get pleasing shot’s this way but the list is very short for creating “different” images. I love silhouette shots but I’ll get [...]

RIP.. Brownie

July 15, 2008

Today, I say goodbye to my beloved dog of nearly 10 years. I am deeply saddened by this but it’s just another one of life’s lessons. My family received her as a gift from a friend of my dad’s. She was just a little pup that loved to play in the grass. She grew up [...]
