I am so lucky to be a wedding photographer in San Diego. Why? Because San Diego is so beautiful! My couples are amazing and so in love with each other. After my first session with Dennis and Alaine we headed to Coronado.
When I walked up to them I noticed the classic outfits they had on. Very simple and elegant. You can’t ask for anything more with the San Diego downtown skyline as your backdrop. On top of that we had the beautiful sunlight setting on us.
I look forward to capturing their wedding in October!

Dennis and Alaine presented a fantastic idea for their engagement session. The ideal photo they had in mind was recapturing the classic V-J day photo in Times Square. It’s a photo of a Navy sailor passionately kissing a woman in a white dress.
There is a statue in San Diego right across from the Midway Museum that replicates this photo. We headed their first and captured it in the exact same way. Dennis wore his Navy uniform and Alaine wore a beautiful white dress with the accessories too!

Balboa Park is one of the most beautiful locations in all of San Diego. It even holds our own San Diego Zoo. So when Humberto & Candace asked me to photograph their engagement session at the Balboa Park I was quite excited!
What I love most about Balboa Park are the Spanish Colonial style buildings. There are marvelous Spanish and Latin American architectural details covering almost every wall. It’s a top choice for portraiture with many nooks and crannies. Balboa Park really gets the creative juices flowing and it’s just the perfect spot to capture two people in love.
Humberto wore a gray vest over a white long sleeve shirt with matching slacks. Very clean cut and GQ looking. He pulled the look off perfectly. Candace wore 2 outfits. The first being a cute red dress. Candace’s dress came out great against the bright greens of Balboa Park. It really made her and Humberto stand out. Her second dress was just completely AWESOME. A black and white vintage inspired dress complete with the vintage lace gloves. It was such an authentic look and feel even with the black flower headpiece.
So we roamed around Balboa Park as I captured their story, their laughter, their lives.
We ended the engagement session in Coronado against the pastel colors of the sky, ocean and beach.
