Debuts

A debut is when a young lady has reached the age of maturity, and as a new adult, is introduced to society at a formal presentation known as her “debut”. A debut, formally called a debutante ball, is very popular in the Philippines and in Filipino communities. The celebration takes place in the young Filipina’s 18th birthday.

Being Filipino, I specialize in capturing this special moment in a young Filipina’s life as her debut photographer. San Diego has a large Filipino community and debuts are very popular with the younger women. With debut photography I photograph the important moments such as the eighteen candles and the roses, the first dance with her father and the speeches.
