I’m not a big fan of purple but it really looks awesome here as a maternity outfit. On occasion, I recommend neutral colors such as white, khakis or jeans but Lei ROCKED the purple.
The other part I absolutely loved about this maternity session was the bitchin green couch in their living room.
I enjoyed photographing Lei from the front of their house looking in as she leaned on the wall and also underneath an archway from the living room leading into the kitchen.
Sometimes the best place to take maternity pictures are right inside your own home!

A bundle of joy is about to enter this world. Pictured here is Lei; due anytime now and I wouldn’t be surprised if I got the call as I write this blog post. This picture presents itself perfectly as a sneak peak (literally!) to her maternity session. I love how she peaked around the corner as she spoke to her husband, Alex. I have no idea what they were talking about but I had to get the shot!
My original idea was to have her stick her belly out the corner to get a goofy looking picture. Their family is a joyful laughing bunch which meant the session was also fun! It was done at their residence as it offered many different looks and angles. In my eyes it was perfect for photography.
So hang in there! More maternity photography on the way..
